  1. Ohhh Adamant, does your hypocrisy know no bounds?
It would be nice to think that a TV show made in the modern day would approach the the topic a bit more sensibly… But I kind of doubt it.

  2. Couple nitpicks:

Deism and Christianity aren’t at all mutually exclusive. In fact that’s in many ways the major difference between Protestantism and Catholicism: most sects of Protestantism are deist Christianity.

Also the doctor says ” your heaven is a myth”, not “your God is a myth”. While a devil without a God would be a problem as you say, a God (and a devil) without a heaven is more straightforward. Gnosticism, for example, holds that there is a God, but instead of being a loving father, he’s a sadistic arsehole not morally worthy of worship, and the devil is actually the good guy for wanting to overthrow him and install a less “fuck you” based cosmology. For obvious reasons, gnosticism and satanism have enjoyed a fair amount of crossover, so the doctor’s line is arguably completely legit.

Both of the above are considered heresy (and thus not actually Christianity) by the Catholic church, but of course Catholicism no longer enjoys absolute authority in such matters.

    Aside from that, great review!

  3. Coven!

    Hell-fucking-yeah!

    (Now, the rest)

  4. Damn, no edit button. So, anyway, the rest seems to fail to live up to the awesomeness of the song.

On the other hand, there is a funny/scary/historic (depending on your point of view) recoding of Anton Sandor LaVey doing the organ for a CoS meeting floating around the web.

Then again, these are theistic satanists, not LaVeyans, but I have a hunch that a discussion on satanism interests only me on this board.
