Me and Omega have ourselves a podcast! And we talk about… Lesbian stuff like Slenderman. We also have a semi-regular feature where we discuss a Classic Doctor Who serial. This time- The Sun Makers.

  1. Personally, I don’t believe misogyny caused him to kill. I mean if you listen to them he talks about guys, gets angry about guys being better than him. Women are just a measuring stick. The guy was a narcissistic prick who hated everyone. He targeted woman because they were a “prize” to be taken away. I don’t think he should be used as a platform for an agenda. I think the problem with the current wave of the feminism movement is that it narrowly focuses on a few specific issues, blows it out of proportion and ignores everything not in this narrow vacuum. Combined with the hugbox mentality of tumblr, this prevents them from thinking rationally. This doesn’t help anyone it just makes it worse when they spout an equally toxic retoric as the people they are denouncing. This is the issue with MRA as well as a whole. (I hate using this phrase, as a gay man, I don’t agree with either. I take a moderate position.) Rather than trying to fix actual issues they try to fix symptoms of a larger issue.

I had more to say on other topics but I moved from one part to another after a long break. I do like the doctor who talks and can’t wait for the next issue.

  2. Just finished watching the Sun Makers, and I kind of liked it, but it does raise some questions. How does the 6 suns keep the rest of the planets in its orbit? With 6 suns, the orbit might create a mess in the solar system. How did the dictatorship started? And now that Pluto isn’t a planet anymore, how will the show acknowledge both The Tenth Planet and The Sun Makers?

Leela didn’t stab anyone, but she at least threw her hunting knife at the guard near the end. Plus, I love the Collector in this episode. I would love to know what he’s doing right now. I think the most weirdest part, just by looking at it, was how he was defeated in the end. It just looked like someone was getting flushed in a toilet.

I have seen Four to Doomsday, and I do feel kind of divided about it. I’m not sure why, but maybe I will know when we get there. In the meantime, I just finished writing my newest review on my wordpress!
